What's New There's always something new and happening going on with the Minnesota Paralegal Association! We just got done with the Annual Convention in June (see July 2006 issue of Citations) and are working on the Fall Gathering, which is scheduled for October 25, 2006 at Windows on Minnesota. These two events, plus the Winter Gala, give MPA members the opportunity to gain new information and network with other MPA member paralegals. Plus, we have a lot of fun! Check back periodically for news and updates regarding MPA happenings, as well as reading Citations, our monthly newsletter (available to members only). We strongly recommend that persons in need of legal services seek the advice of an attorney. At the present time, Minnesota has no minimum qualifications for persons calling themselves paralegals. The risk to the consumer of using such a person to provide legal services, without attorney oversight, is very high. The Minnesota State Bar Association offers attorney referrals as do both the Hennepin and Ramsey County Bar Associations. |
