Topic: Overview of the Winona County Criminal Justice Coordinating Council
Criminal Justice Coordinating Councils have emerged as an effective means for improving public safety, creating system-based approaches to justice issues, reducing duplication of effort and conflicting practices, and improving how local jurisdictions allocate limited justice system resources. Engel will discuss the history, purpose and accomplishments of the Winona County Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, which has been operational since 2007 and which has served as the catalyst for numerous justice system programs in Winona County.
