Meet the Probate Registrars of Hennepin County. Lindy and Yvette will go over some pointers and tips about the probate application, including the #1 reason to require an Amended Application, the Negative Allegation Statement, Demands for Notice, and so much more.
Speakers: Lindy Scanlon and Yvette Andrade, Hennepin County Probate Registrars
Lindy Scanlon is a Certified Court Manager and Certified Court Executive from the National Center for State Courts Institute for Court Managers. She accepted a position as an Administrative Hearing Officer for Hennepin County Probate Court in November 2022. Ms. Scanlon advocates for the people and communities that the Court serves. She promotes and encourages collaboration in the Judicial Branch and with partners.
Earlier in her career she worked in the Ninth Judicial District in multiple positions. She was the first Multi-County Court Administrator in the State. For the past 9 years she managed the Probate and Commitment/Mental Health Courts for Ramsey County. During that time she supported efforts for centralized commitment and provided a valuable resource for court staff around the State. Over the years she has regularly presented at the MAPR conference regarding Commitment Statutes and Legislative changes and the effects on the court processing.
She currently serves on the Governing Board of Hope Harbor, a non-profit organization serving teens and parents.
Yvette Andrade accepted a position as an Administrative Hearing Officer for Hennepin County Probate Courts in November 2022. Ms. Andrade specializes in capturing court processes, written procedures and training.
Earlier in her career she worked in Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services as a Paralegal. After that, she joined the Ramsey County Family Court division as a Senior Court Clerk, scheduling hearings drafting orders and clerking court for Referees in different division of the courts. Yvette also worked with pro se litigants thru the Self Help center helping them fill out paperwork and helping with the Court process. Most recently she was the Supervisor for the Probate and Commitment/Mental Health Courts for Ramsey County. She was a devoted advocate for her staff and has worked to help change the face of the courts in the pandemic.
