Topic: The "New Look" of Due Diligence - 2026

As law firms and corporations adjust to this challenging legal landscape it is important to stay current as this evolution occurs. This one-hour CLE touches on several emerging and evolving topics regarding due diligence. Some of the matters include: new due diligence case review, cannabis, Artificial intelligence in M&A, and crypto currency/Article 12. Attendees will gain practical, actionable insights for navigating modern due diligence.

Course Objective

Identify key legal developments and emerging risk areas— including case law, cannabis, AI in M&A, and digital assets— and apply practical strategies to enhance due diligence in current transactions. This course is appropriate for paralegals and attorneys for CLE.

Speaker: Lydia C. Duynstee, Esq.

Lydia C. Duynstee, Esq. is a licensed attorney in California, known for her extensive expertise in the field of due diligence, particularly in relation to the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and lien and court services.

She provides education and consultation to CT’s law firm and corporate clients, primarily on the west coast. Her in-depth knowledge makes her a subject matter expert, and she is also actively involved in monitoring and teaching on various other corporate topics. As an advocate for the paralegal profession, Lydia is an adjunct professor at Coastline College where she teaches business organizations.

Lydia's bilingual proficiency in Spanish allows her to connect and educate a broader audience. She has a passion for travel and often visits Mexico and Holland, where her parents grew up, immersing herself in the cultures. She recently retired from 16 years of community service as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA). She earned her J.D. from the Catholic University of America and her bachelors of arts in economics from UC Santa Barbara.
